A car-rental marketplace for Romania, on infrastructure the owner controls.

DriverHub is a car-rental marketplace for Romania, built by Ion Rusu, the founder of Bitnoda, in Nuxt 3 with Firebase/Firestore, Supabase and MinIO, self-hosted in Docker behind Traefik.

The challenge

People who rent out cars and people who need one have to meet in one place: accounts, listings and a fast interface, on servers the owner controls.

How it was built

  1. The app

    The whole marketplace is one Nuxt 3 app: listings, accounts and search.

  2. The data

    Data and back-end services run on Firebase/Firestore and Supabase.

  3. The files

    Photos and files go to MinIO, S3-compatible object storage.

  4. The hosting

    Everything runs in Docker containers, with Traefik as the reverse proxy, on the owner’s own infrastructure.
