Fast desktop tools that work offline.
Native apps written in Rust: they start fast, work without an internet connection and keep your data on your machine — from invoicing to voice dictation with on-device AI.
A native desktop app is a program installed on the computer that runs directly on its hardware, without depending on a browser or an internet connection.
Details
Bitnoda builds desktop apps in Rust, with Dioxus interfaces and data stored locally in SQLite — the same stack as MyInvoice, one of its own tools.
Who it’s for
- You need an internal tool that works without internet: in a warehouse, in the field or in offices with a poor connection.
- You handle sensitive data and want it to stay on the user’s computer, not on a server.
- You want to run AI models locally — transcription, search, assistants — without sending data to the cloud.
- You have an old, slow or hard-to-install desktop app and want it rewritten on a modern foundation.
- You need an app that uses the GPU and the machine’s resources better than a browser can.
What you get
- An installable app for the operating systems you need
- A fast native interface built with Dioxus
- Data kept locally in SQLite, with export and backup
- On-device AI (for example Whisper, or models through Ollama), if the product calls for it
- Optional sync with your web platform, through a Rust API (Axum)
- Updates and maintenance after launch
How we work
Discovery
We work out who uses the app, on which computers, and what has to keep working without internet.
Architecture
We decide how data is stored locally, what syncs and what runs on the GPU, and sketch the interface before writing code.
Development
We build in Rust, in short iterations, with installable builds you test on your own machines.
Distribution & updates
We prepare the installers and the update mechanism, then stay close for new versions.

Frequently asked questions
Why Rust for desktop apps?
Because Rust apps start fast, use little memory and rule out a whole class of memory bugs by design. They run smoothly on modest hardware and can use the GPU directly — like VoxTyper, which runs Whisper locally for offline dictation.
Will the app run on Windows, macOS and Linux?
Rust and Dioxus can build the app for Windows, macOS and Linux from a single codebase. We agree at the start which operating systems you’ll use and test on those.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes — that’s one of the main reasons to build a desktop app. The data lives locally in SQLite, and the core features don’t depend on a server. If you need it, we add sync with your web platform that runs whenever a connection is available.
How much does a desktop app cost?
It depends on the features, how many operating systems you need to cover and whether you need sync or on-device AI. The ranges in the contact form go from under €3,000 to over €25,000, and you get an exact estimate, broken down by stage, after the first conversation.
How long does it take to build a desktop app?
A tool with a clear, focused job can be ready in a few weeks, while an app with sync, on-device AI and several user roles takes a few months. We set a realistic timeline after discovery.
Who owns the code, and who handles updates?
The code written for you is yours. We can keep handling updates, compatibility with new OS versions and new features, or hand the project over to your team with full documentation — whether your company is in Romania, the Republic of Moldova or elsewhere in the EU.
