About Bitnoda
What is Bitnoda?
Bitnoda is a software development studio that designs and builds complex web platforms, desktop and mobile apps and interactive 3D websites. It was founded by Ion Rusu, a full-stack developer and web architect with more than 5 years of experience. We work with clients in Romania, the Republic of Moldova and the European Union.
Who actually builds the project?
Ion Rusu, Bitnoda’s founder, leads every project: he designs the architecture, writes code and makes the technical decisions. When a project calls for it, he works with a small network of collaborating developers, whom he coordinates himself. You always have a single point of contact.
Which countries do you work in?
We work with clients in Romania, the Republic of Moldova and the rest of the European Union. Everything runs remotely, so the process is the same whether your company is in Bucharest, Chișinău or anywhere in the EU.
How is Bitnoda different from an agency?
You talk directly to the engineer who writes the code, not to an account manager. The same person handles architecture, interface and infrastructure, and performance and SEO are planned from day one rather than bolted on at the end. The code and infrastructure stay yours.
What projects have you built?
Projects built by Bitnoda’s founder include DriverHub, a car-rental marketplace; SpaceBox, a 3D landing page and configurator for modular houses; e-voluntar.md, a volunteering platform; FisherWay, a digital-products shop; and an HR platform with AI search for a client under NDA. In our lab we also build our own desktop tools in Rust: VoxTyper and MyInvoice.
What is the founder’s background?
Ion Rusu is a full-stack developer and web architect with more than 5 years of experience building complete products, from architecture and data to interface and deployment. He studied at the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași (2021–2025), where his bachelor’s thesis was the first version of the e-voluntar platform.
Projects & cost
How much does a custom software project cost?
It depends on the complexity: the number of screens, roles, integrations and platforms. The contact form lets you pick a range — under €3,000, €3,000–5,000, €5,000–10,000, €10,000–25,000 or over €25,000 — and after the first conversation you get a detailed estimate, broken down by stage. We don’t quote a price before we understand the project.
How long does a project take?
A presentation website can be ready in a few weeks, a complex platform in a few months. We set a realistic timeline after the discovery stage, not before. In the contact form you can tell us up front whether it’s urgent, you’re aiming for 1–3 or 3–6 months, or you’re flexible.
Do you work on a fixed budget or iteratively?
Both work. For a well-defined project we set a budget per stage; for a product that keeps evolving we work iteratively, revisiting priorities regularly. Either way, you follow progress on a staging environment and always know what comes next.
I only have an idea. What do I need to get started?
A description of the problem you want to solve, who it’s for and a rough budget. The discovery stage turns the idea into a clear list of features, priorities and costs before any code is written. If you already have sketches, documents or an existing product, even better.
Can I start small and grow later?
Yes, and it’s usually the healthiest approach. We launch a first version with the core features, learn from how people actually use it, and keep building on an architecture designed to grow.
What do I get at the end of the project?
The live product, the source code, technical documentation and access to the infrastructure. If you want, we stay on for maintenance and new features.
Technology
What technologies do you use?
We choose per project: Vue 3, Nuxt and TypeScript on the frontend; FastAPI, Laravel, Node or Rust on the backend; PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis and NATS for data and messaging; Docker, Kubernetes and GitHub Actions for infrastructure. For 3D we use three.js, TresJS, GSAP and Blender.
Can a 3D website be fast and rank well on Google?
Yes. The content is pre-rendered as HTML, so search engines read it like any other page, and the 3D scene loads only after the main content. On low-end phones, the site can show a static version instead of the scene. bitnoda.team itself works this way.
Why do you use Rust for desktop apps?
Because Rust apps start fast, use little memory and can use the GPU directly. Our own tool VoxTyper, for example, runs Whisper locally on the GPU for offline dictation, and MyInvoice keeps invoicing data on the machine, in SQLite.
Can you add AI to my product?
Yes, where it adds real value. We have worked on an HR platform with AI search built on Gemini and MCP, and on-device we use Whisper for transcription and Ollama for models that run without the cloud. For semantic search over your own data we work with pgvector or Qdrant.
Who takes care of hosting and DevOps?
We do — on your server, a VPS or in the cloud. We use Docker and Traefik for smaller projects, Kubernetes with ArgoCD for systems with many services, GitHub Actions for automated deployment, and Grafana, Loki and Prometheus for monitoring. For EU clients, the data can be hosted in the European Union.
Do you handle technical SEO?
Yes — technical SEO is part of the build: pre-rendered pages, metadata, structured data, a sitemap and fast load times. For example, neostil.md was rebuilt in Vue 3 with vite-ssg, with 64 pre-rendered routes.
Do you work with Shopify or WordPress?
Yes, when they fit the project. We built a custom Shopify theme for Biotiful Life, with Netopia payments, and a custom WordPress plugin for Acord Travel. For stores with specific business logic we use Laravel, as with FisherWay, which takes card payments through maib.
Working together
What does the process look like?
It has four stages: discovery, design, development and launch. After discovery you get a specification and an estimate, after design a clickable prototype, and during development you see every version on a staging environment. After launch, we monitor and keep improving the product.
Can you work under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA)?
Yes. One of our projects, an HR platform with AI search, is shown only by its stack and role precisely because it is covered by an NDA. We agree on the details of the collaboration together before we start.
How do we communicate during the project?
Directly with the founder, who is also the engineer writing the code. We agree on the update rhythm and your preferred channel — video calls, email or chat — at the start, and you can check progress on the staging environment at any time.
Who owns the code?
You do. The code written for your project, the data and the infrastructure accounts belong to you, and we agree on that clearly before work starts. You have access to the code throughout development and get the documentation anyone would need to carry the project forward.
What happens after launch?
We stay close. We can take over monitoring, security updates, backups and new features, at a pace we agree on together. If you’d rather your own team takes over, we hand the project over with all the context it needs.
How do you handle data protection and the GDPR?
As part of the architecture, not an add-on: we collect only the data that’s needed, ask for consent before analytics and can host the data in the European Union. bitnoda.team itself loads Google Analytics only after the visitor accepts. The legal side, such as your privacy policy, is something to confirm with your legal advisor.
Do we need to meet in person?
No. We work remotely with clients in Romania, the Republic of Moldova and the rest of the EU: video calls, a shared communication channel and a staging environment where you see progress. The process is the same for a company in Chișinău, Bucharest or anywhere in the Union.
