A 3D landing page and configurator for modular houses: the house comes apart as you scroll.

SpaceBox is a 3D landing page and product configurator for modular houses, built by Ion Rusu, the founder of Bitnoda, in raw three.js. As you scroll, a Blender model of the house comes apart piece by piece.

The challenge

A modular house is hard to picture from photos and plans. The page has to show it from every angle without slowing down on a phone.

How it was built

  1. The model

    The house is modeled in Blender, module by module, so it can come apart.

  2. The scene

    The scene is written in raw three.js, with no 3D framework on top.

  3. The scroll

    As you scroll, the model explodes into modules and shows how the house is built.

  4. The configurator

    Visitors explore the modular houses right in the browser.
